Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has offered virtual citizenship tests alongside traditional in-person testing. The format you receive depends on IRCC's assignment — you cannot choose.

- Your face must be visible on camera at all times
